Brock Rowing Program
Peter Somerwil of Brock University Rowing met with some of our senior rowers today during lunch. For the benefit of the rest of you, here is a synopsis.
Peter’s first message to the rowers is that “you are a student first” so be be sure of your academic program and take the time to tour and attend the Open Houses any university that they are considering. If you are looking to row for a good university program, he suggested to look for the following; coaching, the regatta schedule, equipment and financing. Athletic awards are available for rowers with 80%+ and in later years for those who earn points through particpation in extra-curriculars. It is posible to row and earn top marks. Scholarships, donor awards and bursaries are a one-stop shop at Brock.
Brochures on the Brock Rowing Program will be available at teh Parent Meeting on December 10.
