Jr. Girls

I need all of you to bring in the parent permission form for brock on friday morning. Even if you have given me the first form and your $. this is an extra form. we will be running on Friday @ 7:45 . I will be there.

Jr. Girls

There was some confusion about the the run times as we changed them on Monday so that you will be able to shower @ the school and not be too early. so 7:45 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please talk to your parents about the Brock rowing info and come Monday with an idea of what works best for you. Make sure your parents are all good with this extra cost as I know rowing is not cheap to start with.

Work to Rule and SWC Rowing

Regrettably, Rowing – and all high school sports  at all public secondary schools in our board – have been stopped for the next two weeks and during the Christmas break due to the Work to Rule action being taken by teachers in our school board.

This is to keep all sports on the same page, as some have outside coaching (like us) and some do not.

The school board is reconvening during the break to reassess this decision, so it is possible we can resume practices in January.

In the meantime, I encourage all our rowers  to continue to train; run, blast, spin – whatever is available outside of the school building. I have posted the “BLAST” workout in a tab (see above) – most rowers have done this workout enough that they know the movements. I also encourage parents and coaches to support the efforts of our student athletes in training while Work to Rule is continuing.

Thank you all and let’s hope this current situation is resolved quickly. – Martha Hunt
