CSSRA Sunday

Five boats into the finals; five wonderful performances and one gold medal. It was a great day to be a Bulldog. A special congratulations to the Senior Women’s 4 and their coaches on their gold medal performance – crew shown below left to right: Sasha Farnsworth, Jenna Osborne, Emily Thomson, Erin Harper, Abby Flett and Elise Wiley – coaches Grant Kennedy and Caitlyn Pauls. A very special thank you to our volunteer coaches who worked with our students – and your children – many of them since November, 6 days per week. There would be no rowing program at SWC without these people. They are an extremely hard working, dedicated and caring group and we are very lucky to have them on our side. Eric, Lisa, Dave, Marian, Tania, Jim, Adam, Tim, James, Greg, Grant and Caitlyn – thank you! Photos from today can be found in the Gallery page. We hope to see all rowers at the athletic banquet on Tuesday! Well done everyone! It was a very good season. sunday 28

CSSRA Saturday

Another beautiful day for rowers and spectators at the island today. SWC made a great effort throughout the day in all the semi’s with 5 boats making it on to the finals tomorrow:

11:10 – Sr Men 72 kg 8
12:02 – Jr Men 72 kg 4+
12:34 – Sr Men 66kg 4+
2:06 – Sr Women 4+
3:50 – Jr Women Quad

So great to have at least one boat from every program in the finals. The grandstand is the place to be tomorrow to watch our crews come over the finish line.

The Bulldog Tent will be open with refreshments available. Please help yourselves and clean up when you are leaving. Thank you to Angela and Andrea for all their time and hard work feeding hungry rowers this weekend and thank you to all who donated healthy snacks and food.

Photos from today are on the Gallery page.

Ok – looking forward to Sunday’s finals.

GO DOGS GO!

CSSRA Friday

Congratulations to all crews and coaches who raced today. It was a beautiful day – absolutely perfect for rowing and we had some great results. The Sr W 4+ and the Sr M 72 kg 4+ won their heats. The Jr M 4+ were second and moved on as well. We have a very busy day tomorrow with lots of  races, so hope to see lots of Bulldog supporters on the island. If you are there, please come by the tent.
